Omega Sigma...Beautifully Strong, Faithfully Courageous

On April 22, 2012 Alpha Omicron Pi installed Omega Sigma, our 192nd chapter at Oklahoma State University.  Writing this already brings tears to my eyes...yes... for those of you who know me I am known to be the sentimental one! One of the privileges of the colony is being able to choose their chapter name and sub motto. They decided on Omega Sigma, meaning Beautifully Strong, Faithfully Courageous! Their sub motto could not be a more perfect description of these women. Being a part of Omega Sigma's journey throughout this past year has forever impacted my life and definitely made me even more sentimental than one could ever imagine!!  I was truly blessed to have the honor of serving these women as their resident consultant.  This semester has brought me a lifetime of memories that I will FOREVER cherish.

Coming together as a colony is such a unique and inspiring process that is made up of the moments so special I often found myself taking a moment to pinch myself, wondering how was I so fortunate to have AOII in my life and I am forever thankful for the people it has brought me to.  Over 100 women at OSU came together because they believed in the power of AOII!  These women wanted to come together and build the foundation and traditions of AOII and OSU together. I wanted to share some highlights of this semester as they grew into the Omega Sigma Chapter they are today!

AOII had their first "pairing" with the men of Kappa Sigma for next fall's Homecoming events!
AOII's posing at Kappa Sigma with our AOII letters on the Kappa Sigma House. It is tradition for the fraternity to hang the sorority's letters on their house after pairing!

Below AOII and Lambda Chi Alpha have a "coke date" (coke date is a traditional term used for socials on OSU's campus) where they did speed dating! Other "coke dates" this semester included, finger painting with the men of Kappa Sigma, Charades with the men of Delta Tau Delta and Kappa Sigma, and a cook out with the men of Pike!

AOII participated in their first Panhellenic spirit week! Lambda Chi Alpha was so generous is letting us hang our banner on their house for the week! Thank you LXA!
AOII teamed up with the gentlemen of SigEp to go out into the Stillwater community and help during OSU's Big Event! Student's raked leaves, cut branches, cleaned up yards, and provided other services to help others.

Greek Discovery Day!  Over 1,000 prospective high school juniors and seniors registered to come to OSU and experience a day of fun events including mock recruitment events! This event is to promote why OSU and Going Greek is the best choice they can make!!! :)  To the left you can see AOII's page in the OSU Panhellenic recruitment booklet, below our browse table, and more photos of our women during the day's events.
