And so it begins...

Alpha Omicron Pi joins Oklahoma State University's Greek community! This past week was a great start to a successful future for our AOII chapter at OKState!

During our colonization we held over 200 personal appointments for women who were interested in joining Alpha Omicron Pi! At night, we held typical recruitment events, as if these women were going through formal recruitment. The first night was 'Picture yourself in AOII'!

Tracy and Blair at the check-in table!

AOII International Advisers and AAC members came to assist with the colonization efforts!

The women of Xi (U of Oklahoma) came to help recruit! We greatly appreciated their help! They are very excited for another Oklahoma chapter!

The night began with a short introduction and then refreshments. At each table there were cameras to take photos, and a fun photo booth!

Also, at each table were questions and chalkboard to write their values. Then, Tracy, Blair and Liz led a values discussion to relate their own personal values to those of AOII.

After a fun night of pictures, the women truly had an opportunity to picture themselves in AOII!

Next, was our philanthropy round: Build-A-Panda!

After a brief introduction about the Arthritis Foundation, AOII's International Philanthropy, we discussed our build-a-panda project! The pandas made were donated to the Juvenile Arthritis Conference, a part of Arthritis Foundation. They are given to all of the children in attendance at the conference to help them cope with their illness.

After Tracy and Liz checked in, we made pandas like this one:

They were given a heart to put in the bear, and had pearls and bows to accessorize!

We had a great deal of support for these recruitment events. Pictured above is the colonization team. Our International President, Allison Allgier and Executive Board members, Susan Danko and Kandyce Harber were all present! Many of the network volunteers from network 6 came to help, as well! We had alumnae from all over, including many AOII HQ staff members. Also, we had collegians from Xi (U of Oklahoma) and Xi Omicron (U of Arkansas) come to recruit members for AOII's newest colony! (They are pictured below.)

Thank you for all your support as we create a larger AOII network and family. We are so excited to begin our newest AOII chapter at OKState. Stay tuned for more information about Preference and Bid Day!
